Mr. Rivers Breakfast Joint

So so so so so good. I am not sure I have ever had a breakfast where I didn’t have to season the grits and eggs. And the sausage gravy may be better than my grandmas. And I see some amazing looking cakes that I’ll save room for next time.

I had breakfast here this morning and the service was great Dustin, my server was amazing. With a welcoming atmosphere. I really appreciated that they had some gluten-friendly options, and the meal looked amazing (photos attached). However, I have a Gluten Allergy and unfortunately something in my meal possibly the grits or sausage must’ve been cross-contaminated, because I’ve been feeling pretty nauseous since. I’d love to see more clearly labeled certified gluten-free options in the future and extra precautions in the kitchen for those of us who are sensitive. Also, want to add I was seated at the bar & I couldn’t comfortably sit because the bar chairs were to high Great vibe overall, but not fully safe yet for gluten-free guests.

Always nice to sit outside and eat. We love downtown Anderson. Good food and the employees are great. The county ham is WAY to salty! Otherwise food is yummy and you can bring your fur babies and eat outside.

Very pleasant experience. The usual breakfast choices and Breakfast was great. I am not an egg eater anymore, but they offered meals that would be sure to satisfy the greatest appetites. Service was Excellent, very friendly, quick, and attentive. I stopped in for a few reasons, but the 1st was the name (smiles). Well worth it, and I plan to make this the morning spot while in town.

We were adventuring and my boyfriend wanted a bloody Mary, Mr Rivers breakfast joint popped up, so we researched the menu and headed out. It was awesome, local ingredients, local charm. Our server Virginia was sweet and kept my tea full throughout our breakfast. The fried green tomatoes were delightful. The bacon jam was out of this world, it was my boyfriend's first experience with bacon jam.
